Danny Murtaugh managed the Pittsburgh Pirates four different times from 1957 to 1976. During his tenure, he led the Battlin' Bucs to two World Championships, but Danny was much more than a baseball lifer. He was a wise, generous and humble man.
The Whistling Irishman is the first feature documentary produced by Kevin Henry Mileposts. It's the story of Danny Murtaugh as told by his family, friends and former players. From his days growing up in poverty in Chester, Pennsylvania to his unlikely climb to the top of the baseball world, The Whistling Irishman will paint the portrait of a one-of-a-kind gentleman, who many believe deserves his place in Cooperstown.
